This page is devoted to a free jazz experiment we have been calling Circular Jazz. A piece is begun by with a free improvisation from one musician and developed through improvising complementary layers from other musicians. We find the harsh shrieks of clashing intervals just as satisfying and rewarding as soothing harmonies perfectly nestled together, and you'll find both approaches here.
This blog is also an open invitation. The songs on this page are mostly made by a group of Manhattan musicians under the name of Baron Casaubon, but we invite free jazzers, on any instruments, from all over the world, to send us a track (a solo free improv in wav) via yousendit.com or a similar file transfer service to: casaubon [at] baroncasaubon.com.
